Learning objectives
The course will help the participants to:• Understand basic anatomy and physiology related to posture;• Look to pilates exercises to reduce physical tension in the body and improve general well-being;• Utilise simple movement practices to integrate into daily life;• Introduce creative movement practices to counter static postures in our schools.

• What is Clinical Pilates and its benefits?
• History of Pilates.
• Planes of movement & introduction to joint movements.
• Introduction to the Pilates Principle – Breath.
Anatomy & Physiology
• Mixed Level Pilates Class.
• Start to understand your body & how it moves.
• Take part in creative activities that enhance your understanding.
• Mobility and stretch Pilates class.
Pilates Principles
• Explore the pilates principles.
• Seated & Standing Pilates Class.
• Typical posture types in relation to self and the classroom.
• Formulate personal pilates and physiotherapy repertoire to reduce daily postural stresses.
• Strategies to integrate more movement into your classroom.
Personal Pilates repertoire
• Reflect on ones personal movement needs.
• Yogalates Class.
• Continue personal pilates and physiotherapy repetoire to reduce daily postural stresses.
• Discussion of teaching methods & language use in the classroom.
Imagery
• Movement class.
• Review of exercises for personal well being.
• Further explore how we can integrate into the classroom.
• Imagery and movement workshop.
