New Media Literacy

The computer and its growing software applications are not new to many of today’s youth. In fact, today’s students are considered to be computer natives because they grow up learning how to use the computer and software applications while most teachers need to go back and learn how to do most of these things. Teachers at my school say if you need help with some aspect of the computer or technology, ask a student. The computers, technology, and media are not necessarily new; it is their use in the educational realm that has brought about the need for new media literacy.
