Our project aims at exploring the following aspects: - ecological and environmental concerns in the production and disposal of smartphones, - social considerations such as exploration of workers in IT-Production, fair IT and the impact of structural changes as having been observed in Salo as well asquestions regarding data protection (processing and storage), - the opportunities smartphones offer in our everyday life such as promoting creativity, using them to solve problems, e. g. with research or physical fitness. Seeing that smartphones have become indispensable nowadays, we feel that this project idea deserves funding as we are convinced that our students need to develop a more knowledgable and conscientious approach to using their smartphones in their day-to-day lives.
