The aim of the project is to raise awareness about the environmental situation in and around the Baltic sea and to get a deeper understanding of the challenges and the responsibilities concerning the future of Baltic Sea and it´s surrounding countries. Our aim is also to strengthen the bonds between young people in our countries through these questions about the Baltic Sea which all connect us and that the students learn from each other in the process and share experiences both as groups and as individuals in an interdisciplinary and holistic way. The content of the project named "Connected by the Sea" is about different topics related to the Baltic Sea and the surrounding countries and their connections. Through a progressive interdisciplinary perspective the project aims to have a holistic educational view in different areas. Topics the project will focus on will be: (1) Sustainable development and environmental issues in the region of the Baltic Sea, (2)Trade in the Baltic and Nordic regions, co-operations and exchanges between countries in the Baltic Sea and the Nordic region, for example cooperation in the Barents region or the European union (3) History of the Baltic Sea and its coastal countries and their connections (4) Security policies in the Baltic Sea, past, present and future.
