Working Out and Growing Up with Traditional Sports

Although living conditions and technological developments make it difficult to do sport, it has an important place in our lives. But today, however, as a result of the changes in forms entertainment tools and advances in communications, sports have changed, and many old sports are no longer played. But sports influence children’s social, psychological and physical development. It helps feelings of collaboration and mutual respect to form. The diversity of physical education, physical activity and sport is a basic feature of cultural value. Traditional and indigenous games, dances and sports, also in their modern and emerging forms, express the world’s rich cultural heritage and must be protected and promoted. Safeguarding and promoting Traditional Sports and Games as sports practices and intangible cultural heritage is a key challenge for the future development of sport and societies. It also enhances intercultural dialogue and peace.
