BREAKING NEWS

We intend to give students the opportunity to make friends in Europe, learn about each other’s cultures and languages and improve ICT skills. The common outcome will be short online “video news” produced and subtitled in the mother tongue and in English (used as a common language) in order to promote the use of spoken language and key competences. On the completion for the video news each school will produce a final video in English which will be collated and shared with all pupils, staff, parents and wider communities through our school websites. The video news will be informative and carry a wide variety of features on the local community, celebrations, sport, music, projects, events etc in each country. In producing and subtitling their videos pupils will not only explore journalism, complete research and practise literacy and ICT skills they will be creative in their thinking, working on speaking and listening abilities and improving their linguistic and translation skills both in their mother tongue and in the target language.
