In language classes literature is a significant tool for teaching fundamental language skills including speaking, listening, reading and writing. It plays an important role in language curriculum and teaching. There is a close and undeniable relationship between literature and language. Literature is composed of language and it also provides space for the applications of language. On the other hand learners use grammar actively through reading literature. It is more pleasant and interesting than traditional methods of instruction and learners can obtain other aspects of language from literary works. Using literature for teaching four language skills as well as language components such as grammmar, vocabulary seems to have become very popular in the area of teaching and learning a foreign language since two decades ago. There are some benefits of using literature for teaching language. The first advantage considers the contextualization of language. Students get familiar with the application of language in various conditions when they read a literary work. The second benefit considers social factors which are embedded in different genres of literature. The third advantage considers the natural and meaningful application of language which are accomplished via illsutrations and use of descriptive language in literature. In our Project according to the project’s plan, our students will read a book from English literature every month. There will be a different literature diary for each month and they will do the activities on each monthly diaries. In diaries,after reading the book, they will make an analysis about literary elements and techniques about the book and then do a practice.In another months they will prepare an alphabet poster, a comic strip, a film poster, one-page newsletter, a book cover and etc. about the book. Finally we will prepare common project products.
