V.O.I.C.E. (Voicing Opportunities In Climate & Environment)

As the partnership, we feel, that this subject is a very important part of the development of the students. It is very different from any of the other subject areas taught in the school and involves much more logical thinking. The students will learn what, how and when to use parliamentary/political language, how to form resolutions, based on debate and the position of an individual or group of countries. Use research to identify and find solutions to world issues, to write papers which express an opinion, using facts and statistics to back up any claims and they will gain confidence in speaking in front of their peers. The participants role-play as diplomats representing a nation or NGO in a simulated session of an organ (committee) of the United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.
