Activity instructions
Students work together in transnational groups moderated by: Anita Šimac & Ivana Perić (Croatia) and Natalia Tzitzi & Vaso Georgopoulou (Greece).
Step 1: The teachers arrange the students in transnational groups
Deadline: January 21st,2025
There are 10 TGs. The project teachers take on the moderation of one TG except for the Activity Moderators from Zadar and Helioupolis who take on the moderation of two TGs.
Moderating a TG involves suggesting times for and arranging chat appointments (15-20 mins long) or online meetings (10-15 mins long) among the members of the TG. If the other project teachers in the group agree/don't agree with the suggestions and can/can't have their students work online at the time and date suggested, add a comment to the spreadsheet (see example on the spreadsheet)
If common times are difficult to find, the TG moderator creates a Google doc and shares it with the TG members using thetransnational groups spreadsheet (column K)
Deadline: January 27th, 2025
Step 2: In each TG, the students discuss what their TG's stress ball should look like.
The students make suggestions regarding the background color and the image on the ball e.g. a superhero, sea, forest, etc.
The students use relevant structures to make suggestions such as Why don't we..? How about ..?, Shall we ...?,
to accept suggestions Sure. Why not?, That's a great idea., Sounds great.
To discuss about the stress ball, the students meet online or they use the TwinSpace chat tool. The discussion is downloaded as a pdf. The students can take notes of the suggestions (the approved ones) on a Google doc. and post the final collaborative text onto the TwinBoard below using the name of their TG as the title.
Deadline: February 4th, 2025
Step 3: In each TG, they will describe the ball in as much detail as possible and they try to draw online with https://draw.chat/
The images will be download and the result uploaded to the TwinBoard on the Collaborative task results page using the name of their TG as the title. .
To facilitate interaction among the students, the Chat tool (TwinSpace) is demonstrated for students to use.
Drawing is done asynchronously. The partner schools take turns to draw following the order on the spreadsheet e.g. TG1 starts with Helioupolis, then Malet, Pluvault, Karditsa, Manresa, Zadar. As soon as the students add a part of the image, the teachers edit the spreadsheet adding the name of the school and what was added e.g. Helioupolis: the outline of a balloon, Malet: super hero, Pluvault: drew the string of the balloon, Karditsa: colored the hero, Manresa: colored the balloon, Zadar: colored the background.
The students post the final collaborative drawing onto the TwinBoard on the Collaborative task results page using the name of their TG as the title.
Deadline: February 10th, 2025
Collaborative results: description text, online drawing,
If a project class has the time to make 1 or 2 balls with the help of the Art Teacher.and share their creations on the TwinBoard below, it would be a welcome result.
Evaluation: the students reflect on the process of designing the balls and its effect on their mental health.
