The AIM OF THIS PROJECT, entitled “The Sunny Side Up”, is to promote the use of alternative sources of energy among the students, more specifically solar energy and consequently a possibility for the development of a sustainable environment. This stands for meeting the needs of present generations without jeopardizing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, which is also one of the key strategies of Europe 2020. We consider that the use of alternative sources of energy is a key to sustainable development. Throughout the project we intend to promote and develop social inclusion for all students, with special emphasis to students with fewer opportunities. The project also focuses on some other areas, such as promoting innovative and creative approaches to teaching and more efficient methodology to tackle the problem of under-achievement in basic skills such as Maths, Science and literacy.
