eTwinning Projects on Active Citizenship

To become active citizen every person needs certain set of skills, knowledge, attitudes and experiences. Youngsters can become active citizens by engaging in volunteering, participating in local community projects, youth organizations and political parties etc., but to be successful they have to possess certain attributes. School and education is the first step towards having those. School can become place were young people can gain those crucial 21st century skills needed to become active citizen. Furthermore, those skills are not tied to certain subject matter, but are universal. Students must master skilful and meaningful communication, become knowledge creators, collaborate with others in order to solve problems and innovate. Those are just a few of skills needed for young people to be able to actively participate on local level.
