We are organizing our own unique Olympic Games! On the occasion of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, our schools are planning their own Olympic Games. The basic language will be, in principle, French and then English and some Greek and Spanish. Students, ages 8-12 years old, will work with the other partners, as a JOINT committee, in teamwork throughout the project to create their own Olympic logo, mascot, torch and medals. Also, students will participate in researching information about the Olympic Games, such as: a brief history of the ancient Olympic Games, the first modern Games in 1896 and 2004 in Athens, the values conveyed, as well as specific information about the 2024 Games in Paris. In addition, older students will create online games about vocabulary and knowledge assessment. Finally, we expect to be in person or remotely via the Internet at the Touch of the Olympic Flame in Olympia, to organize our own games with sports activities and the awarding of medals that we have collaboratively created. The final product of our work will be presented in an e-book in front of an audience, hopefully via video conference, with the other partners.
