Description
Digital technologies are now part of everyday life, with children accessing the Internet at increasingly younger ages. Ensuring their online safety requires educators and parents to understand the risks and promote safe digital habits.
This course focuses on cyber safety and digital responsibility, providing participants with essential skills to recognise threats such as malware, phishing, and identity theft.
Participants will learn to use communication platforms safely, identify risky behaviours, and maintain secure systems. Emphasis is placed on applying this knowledge in educational settings and promoting best practices within school communities.

Learning objectives
- Understand foundational concepts in cyber security and key authentication mechanisms;
- Recognise characteristics of dangerous websites;
- Identify major types of malware and their modes of propagation;
- Gain familiarity with prevention tools such as firewalls, anti-malware software, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs);
- Develop the ability to detect, prevent, and respond to security risks and vulnerabilities;
- Adopt best practices for safe navigation and desktop protection;
- Strengthen ICT competencies and digital literacy;
- Reinforce cultural identity as a European citizen;
- Apply and adapt teaching methodologies to local educational contexts;
- Promote intercultural and professional exchange between European and Portuguese educators;
- Enhance communicative competencies in English and improve social and intercultural skills;
- Understanding of Portuguese and Porto's cultural, historical, and social heritage;
- Disseminate good practices applicable at the local and European levels.
Methodology & assessment
The training methodology is underpinned by EU values, promoting equal opportunities and non-discrimination principles, with the goal of enhancing participants' skills and enabling knowledge dissemination. Our educational practices follow the Erasmus+ KA1 Quality Standards and our Certification from Portugal's Ministry of Education, valid since 2001.
• The methodology encompasses theoretical sessions, simulated practices and participatory activities, incorporating digital tools/resources and supporting materials tailored to each course.
• Pedagogical methods may include focus group, learning, peer activities inspired by project-based approaches (Dewey and Kilpatrick), sharing best practices, collaborative processes, roleplaying, case studies and field visits.
ASSESSMENT
Assessment is based on active participation in activities, a final presentation of a project or output. All material is shared within the group, consolidating the pedagogical activities’ outcomes.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
The course takes place in high-quality training rooms, equipped with WiFi and an outstanding coffee break. Participants are required to bring their own laptop or tablet in order to install and use applications during the course. All other learning materials and resources will be provided by the organisation, ensuring an immersive and effective learning experience. These may include printed manuals, digital resources, physical materials, access to e-libraries and interactive digital tools.
Certification details
Certification follows Erasmus+ KA1 Quality Standards, ensuring recognition across Europe, as well as our Certification from Portugal's Ministry of Education.

Cancellation & changes:

Cancellations up to 40 days before the course starts are free of charge and require written notice.
After this period, you may choose to reschedule (no extra cost) or provide a replacement participant or request a refund (€100 administrative fee per participant deducted from the total amount).
