This project is about creating a magazine with student articles and comments to take attention to environment issues. Students will critique news and articles on the internet related to environment issues such as climate change, recycling, animal migration route or population changes, ecosystem problems and environment related socio-scientific issues that may come up during the project. These subjects are covered in 7th and 8th grade science topics. Until the magazine is created, students will be engaging in a variety of creative and productive collaborative activities through different kinds of WEB 2.0 tools with other founding schools. Students will appreciate scientific data while examining the articles in the media and their attention will be taken to usage of trusted evidences in explanations. Students’ awareness related to environment problems and scientific information and their skills regarding collaboration will improve in this project.
