HOW TO PREVENT AND MANAGE ESL – EARLY SCHOOL LEAVING
Why a school dropout prevention course? In an era in which dropout rates are so high, it is important to help young people learn a method of study that is not limited to a lesson or a session. automatically throughout the school, for trials and errors, discovering your own most effective personal style.
Description
Approach the study method is not a strategy to be applied mechanically, ritualistically and definitively, in a year or in a particular range. It is not an algorithm, it is not a procedure to be automated to speed up the study or to learn any new topic faster. An effective student is not a student who has a study method or not, but is an “elastic” student, who knows more study strategies and therefore is able to move from one method to another, who knows how to understand when and how to modulate it to adapt it to the objectives, the type of subject and content, the previous learning and the time available to it. It is like an expert driver who climbs the gears, adjusting himself according to the road surface, to the weather conditions, to the characteristics of the road to follow: he doesn’t always speed at the same speed, in some places he goes more slowly, in others he accelerates, then he backs off, then slows down in corners and regains speed on the straights.
Learning objectives
Create, manage and set personalized paths on the study method, knowledge about strategies to prevent early dropout phenomena, incredible positive repercussions both in terms of self-esteem and in terms of motivation in students, tools – parachutes not only in case of learning difficulties but also in the cases of repeated failures.
