“Artificial Intelligence in Classroom: Teacher's Guide”

The purpose of this KA1 Erasmus+ Course is to create the foundation for ongoing dialogue around how 21st century knowledge and skills can be appropriately embedded in educator preparation, and to guide the development of resources and services to support educator programs in 21st century Classroom. Understand and to develop the idea behind enhanced understanding of AI fundamentals.

Description

Activity / task 1: Module 1: Introduction

Description: Introduction: AI fundamentals: What is AI, and where does it come from? Examples of AI applications in teaching, learning, and assessment; Most popular AI applications for educational purposes. Getting Started with ChatGPT; Introducing Students to AI and ChatGPT

 

Activity / task 2: Module 2: Workshop

Description: Characteristics of Effective 21st century Teaching and Teachers; Workshop: AI classroom Tool Kit: How to use AI tools safely and responsibly – practical examples; Ethics and AI in Education; AI for Inclusion: Strategies for teachers

 

Activity / task 3: Module 3: Workshop

Description: Outdoor activity with a training task: “Treasure Hunt”/ combined with Sightseeing Activity: In the shoes of our learners

 

Activity / task 4: Module 4: TEACHING BY USING AI IN ALL SUBJECT AREAS: TEACHING, LEARNING, ASSESSMENTS

Description: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving by using AI in the classroom; Creativity and Innovation; In the interactive Classroom: Using Questions and Feedback to Generate a Discussion; Workshop: AI Lesson Planning and Assessment; AI and enhancing the Digital Literacy; The difference between traditional approach and 21st century classes

IMPORTANT: PARTICIPANTS COULD ATTEND 5, 6, 7 OR MORE DAYS IN ACCORDANCE TO THEIR APPLICATION. COURSE FEE INCLUDES TRAINING, COURSE DOCUMENTS (TEMPLATES WILL BE SENT TO PARTICIPATING TEACHERS), COFFEE BREAKS, STATIONARY, SIGHTSEEING, SCHOOL VISIT AT MOST LOCATIONS WHERE THE COURSE WILL BE HELD.

Learning objectives

Provide knowledge and skills with a positive attitude towards innovations, feel the necessity for self-education, and adopt a student-centered and project-based teaching approaches; Develop teaching professional skills, trying to be "an effective model of competence"; Create a tech friendly environment in the classroom; Learning to learn competence; Integrate 21st century skills and content in instruction; Technology skills, knowing when and how to use current educational technology, as well as the most appropriate type and level of technology to maximize student learning; Using a variety of research-verified approaches to improve teaching and learning; Developing a set of thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigative, and creative skills that students can use in all areas of their lives through incorporating different subjects across an existing curriculum; Develop habits of mind that can last a lifetime and guide learning and creative thinking; Learn useful methods that will guide you to test out these new ideas in your own teaching practice; Expand teaching repertoire of pedagogical skills to meet 21st century education novel needs; Equip educators with practical skills that enable them to independently create innovative AI materials; Explore various AI tools and platforms, honing teachers’ ability to critically evaluate their suitability for educational purposes; Define common concepts and explain how AI tools work; Explore educational use cases, describe risks, and access and practice using chatbots; Examine ways to integrate AI tools into assignments and activities used to assess student learning; Gain knowledge how AI-driven educational games and apps can make learning more interactive, while virtual tutors and chatbots can offer students extra help outside of class; Develop the idea about benefits of teaching with AI through: Role playing challenging conversations; Building quizzes, tests, and lesson plans from curriculum materials

Methodology & assessment

Training modules, each of which covered a different aspect of 21st century education and teaching skills. Each module attempted to incorporate the existing knowledge and experience of the trainees to create a helpful learning environment while at the same time demonstrating the importance of collaboration and shared creation in the teaching – learning process. Coursework contained a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. Participants practiced the necessary skills in order to be able to effectively use different teaching approaches with their own students. Other activities: Team – Building Sessions; Group Discussions; Activities of research about EU policy for recognition and validation of competences; Assessment of the "entry" competences and creation of individual learning pathway for the learners; Problem – Solving Activities; Debates; Questioning; Goal – Setting sessions; Decision – Making Sessions; Action – Based Strategies; Brainstorming; Star bursting; Planning an Structuring; Negotiation and Persuasion; Ice – Breaker Sessions; Self – Motivation Sessions.

Certification details

At the end of the course, each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance along with Europass Mobility.

Our certificates are in line with the Erasmus Quality Standards and so include the course's title, short description of its learning outcomes (if requested), dates, venue, the name of the course provider and the course director, number of training hours.

We support participants in every step of certification and validation of learning outcomes focusing specifically on European instruments and Erasmus+ requirements such as Learning Agreement, Quality Commitment and Europass mobility.
