April 23rd Children's Day is a special holiday celebrated in Turkey and several other countries, dedicated to children. It's the world's first and only children's day established by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, as a gift to children. Every year on April 23rd, children experience the joy of the holiday with various celebrations. Schools and cities organize events where children perform shows, dance, sing, and enthusiastically celebrate with their flags. This day also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about children's rights and happiness.
There you can see Czech pupils idea about Children´s Day. We hope you like their picture :-)
2. Czech proposal is holiday called Pálení čarodějnic/The burning of witches.
Pálení čarodějnic also known as The burning witches is similar with the burning of fires and belief in witches, which takes place on the night of April 30 to May 1.
People meet each other in the evening and make a big fires and they put on it the model of a witch made of old clothes and later they roast sausages on the fire, eat them and they can sing songs, play the guitars and dance around the fires and have fun.
So we are all looking forward to the pictures.
