Webinar: 80 Years After – WWII in the Age of Disinformation

On 20 May 2025, 5:00 PM (CET) this webinar, part of the Hi-Story Lessons webinars, will explore how World War II remains a contested topic in the age of disinformation.

You’ll discover a new educational package designed to help teachers and educators address memory conflicts, historical manipulation, and media literacy in the classroom.

The webinar will introduce ready-to-use lesson plans on topics including distorted Wikipedia narratives, divided WWII memory in Germany, Soviet myths in Georgia, and personal history projects.

 

Is World War II a closed chapter of history—or still a battlefield today, in an era of manipulation and disinformation? Join the webinar to discover a new set of educational resources related to disinformation and memory conflicts.

Webinar - Opening eTwinning: involving the wider community through citizen science

During this webinar, organised within the eTwinning featured group Basic skills in action, we'll explore how to integrate citizen science into your eTwinning projects!

 

1️⃣The session will begin with a presentation of the featured group Basic skills in action

2️⃣Next, speaker Priscila Doran from Nuclio will explore the concept citizen science and how it can be used in eTwinning projects. 

3️⃣Speaker Diego Casado-Cansilla from Deusto Learning will showcase examples of citizen science projects/activities that teachers can incorporate into eTwinning to open their project to the wider community around their school and foster dissemination.

4️⃣Finally, the webinar will highlight featured projects from the 2025 eTwinning European prizes:

Know a school or institution that could benefit from new technology equipment?

The ‘Bridging the Digital Divide in Education’ initiative, brought by Scientix® STEM Alliance and Xiaomi, a consumer electronics manufacturing company, aims to support disadvantaged educational institutions with the tech tools they need to meet the challenges of our increasingly digital society. These institutions may include formal and informal education providers such as schools, STEM clubs, or educational centres.

What do you need to do to participate?

  1. Submit an entry to the 2025 SDC map, by answering the question: "Which are the challenges that your school, science club or educational centre faces regarding the integration of technology into teaching and learning (e.g., device availability, training, budget for technology etc.)"?
  2. Name your entry: Xiaomi-Add name of the school (e.g. Xiaomi-European Schoolnet).
  3. Select the category: “Provided feedback to a survey on STEM education / commented on a STEM topic on an ongoing online discussion”.

 

B-SHAPES Summer School for Educators

Teachers and educators can now apply to take part in the B-SHAPES Summer School: Landscape as Heritage, taking place in Zgorzelec/Görlitz from 22–24 August 2025.

 

Application deadline is 6 May 2025!

 How do borders shape our landscapes and perceptions? During this three-day programme, you will explore this question through, helping students across Europe to engage with their surroundings in new and meaningful ways.

 

Boost your students' storytelling skills with the Europeana dice

Europeana’s story dice reuse cultural heritage images to provide creative prompts. Pick an image you like, or roll a dice at random, and then write, draw or discuss. You can always use more images to develop your story or discussion! 

Play with Europeana story dice to spark your imagination, develop creative ideas and enhance problem-solving skills. 

Used in a group, they also encourage collaboration, listening and self-expression.

Invitation to participate: European soil literacy study for schools

European soil

The European Soil project coordinators are currently seeking participation from schools in: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Cyprus, Slovenia, and Austria.

 

Each participating school will involve two classrooms, where students will engage in a specially designed lesson on soil. 

 As part of the lesson, students will complete an anonymised* questionnaire that will help assess current levels of soil literacy. The study will revisit participating schools in two years’ time to measure changes in understanding and awareness.

Citizens of eligible Asian and European countries, who are teachers and any educators at the secondary, vocational, or high school level based in one of the eligible countries
