Associação Guarda 1056 is a private non-profit association located in the Inland of Portugal, in the District of Guarda, a rural mountain area which covers two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and one UNESCO Global Geopark.

Primarily dedicated to community development, social inclusion has been a core mission of our organization. For the past ten years, our work in this field has favoured the re-entry into the job market of long-term unemployed adults, members of vulnerable social groups and young people who did not complete mandatory education, mainly through professional training courses and long-term courses that allow for the elevating of scholarship levels.

Within professional training, we have carried out our own funded project and been active partners of many others. Furthermore, we interested and willing to contribute to all initiatives that seek to strengthen inclusion, reduce inequalities and combat discrimination.

For the near future, we intend to expand our institutional network and foster the creation of partnerships that can lead to joint proposals to funding programmes.
