The 2nd Model Junior High School of Athens is in the center of Athens. It is easy to visit the school venue, since it is nearby a metro station connected directly with Athens international airport El. Venizelos. With around 480 students coming from different locations of the city and 50 teachers, the school activities vary from exploiting the potential given by the law -as a model school- to make novel interventions to the Ministry of Education’s curriculum, designing and implementing courses involving intersubjectivity, interdisciplinarity, to conducting around 20 in-school clubs of creativity and excellence that our students participating after the school program ends, etc. We also provoke outdoor learning school activities, school performances that stimulate the expressional factor of our students, visits with educational value in and out of Greece, while participating in several consortiums with other schools all over Europe running Erasmus+ and eTwinning projects. Students enter our school after passing an entry test in Linguistics-Reading Comprehension and Mathematics, which focuses on assessing competences and skills. With regards to teacher networks, we are also keen on conducting professional development programs and seminars around teaching methods (CLIL, STE(A)M, robotics, etc.) for teachers of different expertise, or focused on a learning subject, which is an institutional role of our school in the Greek educational system.
