CLOSER THAN YOU THINK

  1. WHAT IS THE PROJECT IN SHORT?

This project is going to start this year initially as an e-twinning project that will enable pupils virtually sense Europeanness. It envisages to proceed next year as an ERASMUS mobility project that will enable pupils to experience Europeaness physically. This Project will be a discovery voyage of pupils towards awareness of Europe’s social, economic and political influence in their future lives as well as their potency in Europe’s future as they will and should be the active citizens of these lands in the future.

3.WHY THIS ISSUE?

Europe and specifically European Union are based upon peace, equality, human rights, democracy and diversity. Though there always have been inconveniences throughout the history, Europe is known to be an entity that keeps pursuing such values. Our Project has born out of the need of pursuing and preserving active, civic and democratic citizenship who stand for a peaceful, democratic, inclusive and diverse Europe. For this, we do need to provide the pupils who will be the adult citizens in the future with opportunities to explore their identities in European context, and discover the vital need for more cooperation and integration among young people to find common solutions for any problems in Europe.
