Let's celebrate Maths by writing a collaborative poem. Each school will draw a picture and write a poem according to the picture. The picture can be about a shape or a number or symmetry or whatever each school decide. You can upload your work to the following link

My students played poets. They were looking for words that rhymed with the selected pictures. They did an auditory analysis of the words, marking the beginning and end of the sound in the word. In the end, they managed to create a math poem. We had a good time.

Včela ku kvetu si letí,
Počítajme včely, deti.
Jeden dva tri štyri päť,
Hneď robia voňavý med.

The bee flies to the flower,
Let's count the bees, kids.
One two three four five,
They immediately make fragrant honey.

My students drew the shape of a circle and sang a poem about the circle.

Děti se rozhodly vymyslet básničku o holčičce. Hledaly rýmy k jednotlivým slovům a zkoušely přiřadit číslovky od 1 do 6. Užily si mnoho legrace. Společně podle vytvořené básničky holčičku namalovaly.

Byla 1 holčička,

ta měla 2 očička.

Na hlavě 3 culíčky,

šatičky zdobily 4 knoflíčky.

5 malinkých prstíků,

drželo 6 klacíků.

There was 1 little girl,

she had 2 eyes.

3 ponytails on the head,

dress was decorated with 4 buttons.

5 little fingers,

held 6 sticks.
