Project Evaluation Report: eTwinning Project "AI and I Learn Math"

The eTwinning project "AI and I Learn Math" implemented by Gymnasium Skalas (2024–2025) effectively combined creativity, technology, and interdisciplinary learning to engage students and teachers. Below is a comprehensive evaluation of the activities and outcomes achieved.

Activities Overview

  1. Scenario Development: The project began with brainstorming the core concept, transforming it into a comprehensive script using AI tools like ChatGPT.
  2. Multimedia Integration: The script was converted into a comic, animated visuals, and voiceover using tools like HailuoAI and TTSFree. This multimedia approach enriched the storytelling process and encouraged students' creativity.
  3. Collaborative Tools: Platforms such as Padlet and Canva were utilized to design lesson plans, create titles, and prepare webinars. These tools fostered collaborative skills and introduced students to advanced digital applications.

Highlight Activities

  • "Our Book" and "Our Game": Students developed linguistic and analytical skills through storytelling and interactive games like Mathcastel, demonstrating engagement in critical thinking.
  • "Our Song": By creating songs, students enhanced their emotional expression and memory retention, a vital aspect of interdisciplinary education.
  • AI Activities: Using artificial intelligence for math problem-solving and content creation not only deepened students' understanding of real-life applications but also made them active technology users.

Impact on Students

Students were exposed to a variety of innovative learning methods, from digital storytelling to interactive simulations. They developed critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork while also gaining proficiency in using Web 2.0 and 3.0 tools. The "Logos vs. Antilogos" debate, enriched with AI-assisted arguments, particularly stood out in fostering rhetorical skills and analytical reasoning.

Impact on Teachers

Educators expanded their teaching repertoire by integrating technology into the curriculum, creating a dynamic learning environment. Participation in webinars and interactive platforms enhanced their ability to guide students through complex digital tools.

Conclusion

The "AI and I Learn Math" project successfully achieved its objectives of blending AI, creativity, and education. It demonstrated the transformative power of technology in making learning engaging, collaborative, and practical, setting an excellent example for future eTwinning initiatives.

“Logos” vs “Antilogos”
In this activity, students were divided into teams: “Logos” and “Antilogos.” The “Logos” team argued that Mathematics is a Mental Sport, while the “Antilogos” team argued that Mathematics is a Skill. Each team developed their arguments, which were enriched with the help of AI. Subsequently, each student/speaker prepared their own video/speech, once again utilizing AI. Finally, all the speeches were combined into a single unified video.

This activity develops critical thinking, rhetoric, and teamwork. Students learn to support arguments, while teachers guide the analysis and synthesis of ideas.

PROJE DEĞERLENDİRMESİ

AI and I Learn Math projesi, geleneksel matematik öğretimini dönüştüren, yenilikçi ve ilham verici bir yolculuktu. Bu projede amacımız, öğrencilerimizin matematiksel kavramları eğlenerek, keşfederek ve teknoloji ile iç içe öğrenmelerini sağlamaktı. Yapay zekâ araçlarının sunduğu olanaklarla öğrenciler sadece matematik öğrenmekle kalmadı; aynı zamanda üretmeyi, sorgulamayı ve anlatmayı da öğrendiler.

Proje boyunca öğrencilerimizle birlikte animasyonlar oluşturduk, matematiksel kavramları hikayeleştirdik, yapay zekâya matematik şarkıları yazdırdık, oyunlar tasarladık ve hatta ders planlarını bile yapay zekâ desteğiyle oluşturduk. Her bir etkinlik, öğrencilerimin yaratıcı yönlerini ortaya çıkardı ve onların “matematik sıkıcıdır” önyargılarını kırdı. Çocuklarım artık sadece dört işlem yapmayı değil, bu işlemlerin yaşamla, sanatla, müzikle ve teknolojiyle nasıl iç içe geçtiğini de biliyor.

Proje sürecinde öğrencilerimiz yalnızca tüketici değil, üretici konumuna geldiler. Görseller tasarladılar, hikayeler yazdılar, sorular oluşturdular ve arkadaşlarıyla dijital ortamda paylaşarak yorum yaptılar. Bu etkileşim, onların hem dijital okuryazarlık becerilerini hem de sosyal-duygusal gelişimlerini destekledi. Uluslararası paydaşlarımızla kurduğumuz bağ sayesinde öğrencilerimiz farklı kültürlerden akranlarıyla birlikte üretmenin ve öğrenmenin tadına vardılar.

Ben bir öğretmen olarak bu projede hem öğrencilerimin gözlerindeki heyecana hem de kendi mesleki gelişimime tanıklık ettim. Yapay zekânın eğitime sağladığı katkıyı yerinde deneyimlemek ve bunu matematik gibi soyut görülen bir alana entegre edebilmek, öğretmenliğe olan bakışımı daha da zenginleştirdi. AI and I Learn Math benim için sadece bir proje değil; geleceğin eğitiminin nasıl olması gerektiğine dair güçlü bir örnek oldu. Bu süreci birlikte yürüttüğümüz tüm öğrencilere ve proje paydaşlarımıza yürekten teşekkür ediyorum. Öğrencilerim artık sadece matematik değil, teknolojiyi bilinçli ve yaratıcı bir şekilde kullanmayı da öğrendi. Bu, bana göre projenin en kıymetli kazanımıdır.

2025 yılı için belirlenen eTwinning teması Vatandaşlık olduğundan, biz de proje ekibimizle birlikte bu önemli konuyu kutlamak için özel bir etkinlik düzenledik. Etkinliğimizde, öğrenciler vatandaşlık kavramını yapay zeka destekli araçlarla keşfettiler ve eğlenceli içerikler ürettiler. Farklı ülkelerden öğrenciler, kendi dillerinde “vatandaşlık” kelimesinin anlamını anlatarak kültürel çeşitliliği vurguladı. Ayrıca, iş birliği içinde hazırlanan bir dijital poster ve kutlama videosu ile vatandaşlık bilincini artırmaya yönelik mesajlar verdik. Bu etkinlik, öğrencilerimizin aktif vatandaşlık, demokrasi ve sorumluluk konularında farkındalık kazanmalarına katkı sağladı.

Since the 2025 eTwinning theme is Citizenship, we organized a special celebration event with our project team to highlight this important topic. During the event, students explored the concept of citizenship using AI-supported tools and created engaging content. Students from different countries shared the meaning of the word “citizenship” in their own languages, emphasizing cultural diversity. Additionally, we collaborated on a digital poster and a celebration video to convey messages about citizenship awareness. This event helped our students gain a deeper understanding of active citizenship, democracy, and responsibility.
