Public Speaking, Communication & Presentation Skills For Professionals 5 or 10-day
This 5 or 10-day course enables participants to improve their communication and presentation skills in their professional lives so that they are able to speak in a range of formal and informal situations with an increased level of confidence and clarity.
Description
- Suitable for business professionals; academic, administrative and auxiliary school staff (primary, secondary, higher education) and Teacher trainers.
- Minimum language level: B1.
Course offers participants theoretical, as well as practical, classroom experience in the art of public speaking where they will be given the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with peers of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds
- Appreciate aspects of public speaking within both personal and professional settings
- Take part in classroom activities to practise their public speaking techniques
- Observe and critique peers constructively on their performance
- Increase their confidence in delivering a speech to an audience
- Improve their English communication skills
The first week [Week 1] comprises a plethora of communication topics with practical and theoretical exercises and discussions.
The second week [Week 2] gives you the opportunity to research, plan and deliver a variety of presentations, in different styles
Learning objectives
- Learner outcomes focus on :
Developing effective communication and presentation skills, understanding cross-cultural communication, and applying motivational theories. - Participants will learn to create and deliver engaging presentations, both individually and collaboratively, using techniques like the 'BOMBER Technique.'
- They will also explore the importance of networking, risk-taking, and providing constructive feedback.
- Emphasizing practical application, including planning and delivering persuasive and collaborative presentations, understanding public speaking fundamentals, and incorporating interactive elements.
- Additionally, participants will reflect on learning, assess work and that of peers, and plan future steps in their communication and presentation journey.
Methodology & assessment
You will be encouraged to take an active role in all sessions, maximising your use of English, and experiencing for yourself the activities your learners will be participating in. This course is designed to help you reflect on your approach to teaching today’s pupils.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Teams folder with slides and course content are shared via Teams, enabling participants to access, contribute, and collaborate with peers, past and present, throughout the course.
Certification details
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate, including their name, date of birth, course title, course dates, total sessions attended, and overall attendance record. This certificate recognises their participation and engagement.
