THE PROJECT IS BASED ON THE ANALYSIS OF THE 2019 ESPAS (EUROPEAN STRATEGY AND POLICY ANALYSIS SYSTEM) REPORT: “GLOBAL TRENDS TO 2030. CHALLENGES AND CHOICES FOR EUROPE. A ROAD MAP TO THE FUTURE”. THE DOCUMENT POSES VARIOUS CHALLENGES THAT THE FUTURE EU CITIZENS ARE GOING TO FACE, FOR EXAMPLE CLIMATE CHANGE, DEMOGRAPHY AND MIGRATION, IMPROVING AGEING, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, ECONOMIC GROWTH AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE, TERRORISM AND SO ON. THE STUDENTS WILL BE STIMULATED TO SEARCH POSSIBLE "SOLUTIONS" TO ALL THAT, USING A "STEAMFUL" APPROACH: THEY WILL CREATE PRODUCTS OR PROTOTYPES ABLE TO FACE AND MANAGE THE FUTURE TRENDS, BY MEANS OF "PROBLEM BASED LEARNING" (PBL), LEARNING-BY-DOING, COOPERATIVE LEARNING. THEY WILL WORK IN MULTICULTURAL GROUPS, USING THE TYPICAL METHODOLOGY OF "HACKATHONS" (DIGITAL MARATHONS) AND WILL BE ENGAGED IN VERY STIMULATING CHALLENGES.

  • The micro-level majority of people are now in middle age

How can we reduce electricity footprint of our school and so being a greener school?

By having our school lights on when it is dark and off when it is bright, i.e. having automated/smart lights. Automation with a microcontroller like Arduino can make this and this is the proposal of our school for being greener.
