In this project, participants will learn about the Moon Landing in 1969 and will commemorate this through a series of joint activities. Not only will they work with partners from other countries, they will work with people of different ages in their own schools or in the partner schools. An important aspect of the project is the intergenerational research which participants will undertake by interviewing family members and members of their HUG groups (groups where school children visit older people in residential accommodation) about their memories of the moon landings. Participants will create original art work on the theme of the moon landings. Through researching from source documents (newspapers, video libraries) pupils will gain an increased understanding of the importance of One Small Step for Mankind.
