SUSTAINABLE MATHEMATICS

While societies are developing economically, the damages caused by societies on the ecosystem are increasing. Problems such as the Decimation of natural resources, global warming, climate change are among the most important issues that have occupied our agenda in recent years. The most important impact of human beings on the environment and its resources is on sustainable use. Sustainability has the aim of perceiving environmental destruction as a problem and solving these problems.Galileo says about Mathematical methods that: “The universe is like an open book, in order to understand this book that is always in front of our eyes; We need to know various geometric shapes such as triangle, Circle. Otherwise, not a word of this book will be understood and we will not be able to escape from wandering in a dark labyrinth.” Nature is not only what we see, what we hear, what we smell. The orbit of the planets whispers the ellipse and, in general, the curve. Soap bubbles strive to become a perfect sphere. According to Pythagoras, there is a dance of numbers everywhere, no matter what system you put the numbers on the graph, a template comes out. That is why there are stencils everywhere in nature. In short, mathematics is the language of nature, everything around us can be described and understood by numbers With this project, students will learn that mathematics is not just a lesson learned at school, but a part of our daily life. By targeting interdisciplinary cooperation in the context of sustainable life and environmental sustainability, the development of their mathematical thinking will be ensured in order to support their creativity.
