How gender-oriented can human rights be?

Our project is focused on Gender Equality seen as a Human Right that has to be respected and as an opportunity for the growth of the whole society. The project aims to develop Goal 5 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Students will be asked to analyse written and visual documents and to read literary texts on the topic, to discuss them in mixed groups in order to develop their own ideas about weaknesses and threats that prevent women from having equality recognized as their own right. Students will lead research (surveys) in towns where they live. They will compare results in mixed groups to obtain a culturally diverse outlook on how women’s rights and roles are perceived in different European countries. Finally, the groups of students will elaborate their own proposals to promote gender equality. The final product will be a digital promotional campaign with a visual and a slogan which will highlight opportunities every society would get by fully respecting women’s rights.
