Description

The objective of this course is to cultivate participants' effective communication skills. Teachers will gain valuable insights to create engaging and informative lessons by focusing on refining classroom techniques and incorporating practical activities. We aim to support educators across all subjects in clarifying their roles in nurturing students to become confident language users in reading, writing, and speaking. Join us in honing your communication abilities and empowering your students to excel in language skills across various disciplines.

Learning objectives

This program aims to improve communication skills by addressing barriers, offering tools for effective communication tailored to different personalities, understanding group dynamics, and meeting the needs of learners and colleagues.
It also covers delivering public speeches, identifying and changing unsupportive behaviours, and enhancing English competence.
It focuses on boosting confidence in public speaking, facilitating clear articulation of questions and ideas in class discussions, and sharing teaching into Porto and Portuguese culture among educators.

Methodology & assessment

Teaching is commonly perceived as a blend of fifty per cent knowledge and fifty per cent interpersonal or communication skills. Our program delves into the crucial role communication plays in the teaching profession, covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing aspects. In today's educational landscape, effective communication is fundamental for transmitting knowledge, skills, and values.

Our course goes beyond traditional lectures to equip educators with the tools needed to excel in their profession by effectively conveying complex ideas and fostering meaningful interactions with students.

Moreover, we emphasize the importance of communication skills in introducing creative and practical solutions to students' challenges. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants will develop strategies to enhance their communication abilities, ultimately empowering them to create engaging learning environments and inspire their students to succeed.
