Integration of Step Up for Europe into the Dutch Global Citizen Competences Framework
The Global Citizen Competences (GCC) are structured around three core domains:

🔍 Investigate | 💬 Communicate | 🤝 Cooperate
🔍 1. Investigate (Onderzoeken)
Relevance of the project:
Students research European societies and institutions (e.g. EU, democracy, values).
They explore the origins and development of the EU, as well as challenges such as migration, war, and climate policy.
Competences addressed:
Awareness of different societies and international issues.
Comparing European societies and values.
Forming personal opinions on global issues (e.g. populism, Euroscepticism).
Working with international sources and EU educational materials.

They communicate in English about cultural identity, values, and European challenges.
They create polls, videos, e-books, and take part in discussions.
Competences addressed:
Basic contact-making in an international context.
Oral and written exchange about cultural identity and European issues.
Showing empathy, openness, and flexibility in intercultural dialogue.
