Digital Pedagogy - Game Based Learning
This LTT activity took place in Guimarães (Portugal) from 18 to 21 of May 2023. The main goal of the activity was to approach game elements appropriate for face-to-face and online courses.
Game based learning involves goals, interaction, feedback, problem solving, competition, narrative, and fun learning environments, elements that can increase student’s engagement, sustain motivation and increase digital skills.
The purpose is to create or design game-based learning activities so that game characteristics and game principles inhere within the learning activities themselves.
Many activities or active learning strategies already used by teachers likely contain some of the game elements listed above and, with some modifications, can be modified into even more effective learning and digital tools. We prepared some practical activities related to the following topics:
