The Project Plan

Created by Vesna Ivančević
Last updated by Aspasia Matthaiou 7 months 1 week ago

Aims:

At the end of this project the students should be able to:

1. describe the Mediterranean diet and name some of its benefits

2. to talk about Mediterranean countries, cities, towns, cultures, foods

3. to prepare a traditional Mediterranean meal

4. to show their classmates how to prepare a traditional Mediterranean meal

-----------------------------------------

Stage1. WARM UP (January 2023)

The teachers give their students information about the Mediterranean diet, the Mediterranean sea, the Mediterranean countries and some of their bigger cities.

They can use story telling, quizes, games, create drawings, make crafts, do experiments, teach the life cycles of some Mediterranean products, draw maps etc.

Stage2. PRESENTATION (February 2023)

The teachers show the students a model Master Class and explain what they need to do. They help the students get prepared and organise the event(s). (A model Master Class will be provided by the founder of this etwinning project)

Stage3. PRODUCTION (March – April 2023)

The students perform their Master Classes (make sure to have one or two teachers to help with taking pictures and a video of the whole procedure). They can work individually or in pairs or in teams of three students. If they work individually they have to speak in English. In the other cases they can speak in their native language and have another student or the other students in their team translate in English or/and in French. At the end of the Master Class the rest of the students in the class will be forming teams of three or four students in order to prepare the recipe they were previously watching. The teacher(s) will decide which of the teams co-operated best and made the most delicious meal!

Stage4: FOLLOW UP (May - June 2023)

The teacher and/or the students themselves, depending on how familiar they are with the use of a padlet, upload all relevant information, crafts, art, photos, videos or other student creations on a Mediterranean Junior Master Chef padlet!

Stage5: SUMMING UP (June 2023)

The teachers ask their students to discuss about the aftermath of this project. They can fill in questionaires or answer questions on their student journals. They can talk about what they have learned, what they liked or what didn't work well for them or for their teams.

Expected results:

The final product of this project will be an ebook containing all of the students' creations posted in the Twinspace.
