This project has been created by nine teachers to celebrate the international pi day (March 14) together with our students from 9 to 14.

Not only are we celebrating this day together, but we are also bringing our students together around a larger project: working on the number pi in different languages and through different supports... And all in a fun way!

Our aims:

Through this project, we would like our pupils to:

 -develop their mathematical knowledge,

- develop their linguistic skills in their native language and in English langage,

- develop their artistic skills by drawing, pasting, taking photographs or even cooking,

- improve their cooperation and collaboration skills,

- improve their ICT competences using web tools and apps in order to communicate,

collaborate on different tasks,

- upgrade their learning to learn skills (students will learn how to use apps or work in groups), cultural awareness and expression and multilingual competences (students will learn words from the language of other partner countries)

- develop their personal and social competencies by working with their colleagues in a constructive way.

With this project, we aim to show that mathematics is universal and that mathematics is fun by ensuring international interaction of students.

Work process:

Teachers communicate by emails. An online meeting lasting 1 hour has been set at the beginning of the project.

Schools use the Twinspace to show their works to other countries or share links to padlets or quizzes.

Calendar:

- first half of March: pi puns / paper pie gift box

- second half of March and April: quizzes design, videos about pi

Beginning with the puns is a good ice-breaker activity because humour is a great way to communicate and involve all the students in the project.

Expected result:

Our Twinspace is public and we exhibit our work in our respective schools.

Improvement of a school practice or knowledge:

collaboration with students from other countries, gamification.
