Last updated by Monika Piasecka 2 years 3 months ago

Aims of the project: develop writing skills, making new friends which motivates students to learn English, getting to know new cultures and history of other partner countries, the letters will have different form each time (i.e. letter/email, cards, poscard, blog), besides main tasks, students will try to make short videos, avatars, presentations, posters, logo.

Timetable:

February

Introduction. Students have to write a letter/email about themselves: their appearance and character, hobbies and interests, favourite subjects at school, favourite music/ game/ film, etc.

Students will learn/ practise to use web tools to create avatars (Voki, chatterbox), put them on a Padlet; make a project of our main logo on Canva / postermywall and put them on a Padlet.

March

A postcard from my town / country. Students write a postcard, describing their town or country. They can use Canva or postermywall to create it, they can also draw it.

A discussion: students comment in the Discussion page - they can answer questions (i.e. 'Have you got a local sports team?', 'What are the best things about your town/ city?', 'What are the worst?', 'How do houses look like in your town?'

Teachers can make an online exhibition of students' poscards.

April

An Easter card. Students will create an Easter e-card with wishes. They can use Canva to make it, and Padlet to put the ecards.

May

A blog entry.

June

Evaluation of our project.

Thanks to the project: students are highly motivated in English writing class, students are aware of cultural differences and similarities between different countries, students are exposed to authentic written English by exchanging letters with students of their own age from another country, students are familiar with formats of English letters and expressions.
