General Description of the project
According to Global Footprint Network, the Humans use as much ecological resources as if we lived on 1.75 Earths. Moreover, the way we produce and consume food is both the biggest driver of nature loss and a significant contributor to climate change. In fact, as the United Nations state, worldwide consumption and production — a driving force of the global economy — rest on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive impacts on the planet.
In this context, we feel that we need to push local ACTIONS for a responsible consumption and production, to activate the GLOBAL REACTIONS required to preserve the available resources of our planet, and we want to do it EXPERIENCING ERASMUS+!
Project Aims
- To be aware of the problem related to the excessive use of Earth's natural resources.
- To report the waste problems related to food chain production (by chemical products, product lost…)
- To understand and share the concept of Materials’ Footprint and the ways to reduce it.
- To share actions in our schools directed to attain SDG#12.
- To push actions to improve responsible consumption, re-use and recycling.
- To use ICT tools to improve our teamwork.
- To improve English language skills.
Work process
- To study and propose improvements of waste management at local level.
- To analyse where does our food come from and the expense of resources required to produce and distribute them.
- To know associations and organisations that work on recycling or transformation of materials & products.
- To evaluate the amount of unnecessary waste we generate day by day (packaging, spilled food...), and to share advice for improvement.
Expected results
- Public Twinspace to collaborate and store our activities and results, all of them conducted to find and share changes to improve our ecological footprint.
- Final eBook with the main products of our work to be shared with schools and local institutions.
