The keys to the future is a project between two upper secondary schools, Porvoo Finland and S:t Iliansskolan Sweden. The theme is concentrating on three main keys, which are important for the future: reading skills, self-care and cultural identity. We have chosen these topics because of the decline in literacy among young people and the decline in enthusiasm for reading and because mental health problems have become more commen and cultural identities are disappearing. Grades 7-9 will be involved in the project and will bring together learners of different ages. During the project, there will be also pieces from other cultures alonside Finnish and Swedish. Each month has specific tasks and themes to work on.
