The main idea is for the students to name their favourite books - on the Twinspace or a blog, where they list the author, title, what they liked most about the book, etc. Ideally, the project would start before the summer holidays, so the students might be able to read a few of the suggested books during the summer. Some of the book titles would also be suggested by the teachers - for instance the Book Thief, which myself and some of my students thought was wonderful - hence the title of the project. During the next school year, the students would then dicuss the book they have read, suggest new ones, write reviews, vote for their favourites, make bookmarks and posters, etc. The final goal would be a reading list for teenagers by teenagers, which would be finished in May/June 2020 and we could then share on the Twinspace and the other students in our schools.
