ICT for teaching and learning - a shortcut to the modern education

In developing new century skills can be improved through innovative ways of teaching and learning, particularly with using effectively the new technologies. Smartphones, iPad or tablet, all the modern mobile devices, are developing very fast in contemporary internet society. The increasing trend of their use can also be fulfilled in schools, although lots of European countries are still inadequate in usage of mobile apps. Moreover, although some schools are equipped with appropriate devices, teachers are not usually trained in the way they have to use these tools and often they occur to be useless. The new technologies and mobile devices can improve the quality of teaching and learning and significantly change the way the teachers train students. These methods are interactive, entertaining and most of all are effective. In one way or another, the future classrooms seem to be without paper. Trainees are always a creative, active and responsible part in the processes of learning. Through the usage of mobile devices in learning, students become more engaging in work in class, more motivated, and then results are also positive. Mobile devices are also determinative to developing cooperation, which occurs to be one of the basic skills required in the labor market. Although group and team work are used in traditional ways of teaching too, we can’t say that the assessment of the quality of group work, individual contribution etc. is much more difficult in a regular classroom environment.
