Foreign language teaching and learning through STEAM within FCL framework

The aim of this project is to enhance students’ foreign language learning by integrating the Future Classroom Lab (FCL) methodology with real-world problem-solving activities. By engaging with authentic issues from their own communities—such as environmental challenges, technological needs, or social concerns—students will be able to connect the target language to everyday experiences, making learning more relevant and motivating. Within the six FCL learning zones (Investigate, Interact, Create, Develop, Present, Exchange), learners will explore local and global problems, design STEAM-informed solutions, and express their ideas through the foreign language. In this way, the foreign language will not only act as a tool for collaboration but will become a core learning goal, supported by concrete outputs such as glossaries, problem reports, role-play scripts, presentations, and digital publications. Ultimately, the project seeks to demonstrate how real-world problems can drive deeper engagement with language learning, while also fostering creativity, problem-solving, and intercultural exchange.
