CREATIVE LEARNING WITH MUSIC AND RHYTM

The effectiveness of education and training activities is directly proportional to the activities designed to enable students to discover and use their special abilities and interests. The aim of our project is to use "Aytürk Tecnique" in order to create opportunities for students to create a new product by using their interest, talent, creativity and knowledge in group work, and also to contribute to understanding of education. As a result of the project, the students' motivation and self-esteem are supposed to be improved by enabling them to discover and use their strengths and using the materials they produce with enrichment and authentification. Our trainings are within the scope of Istanbul Art and Culture Center's Art Activities Unit program and conducted in the form of two hours of classes per week. Sessions take place with a group of about 10 people, consisting of third, forth, fifth class students. "Aytürk Technique" is original. It is initiated by associating music and other disciplines, talking about creativity, giving relaxation techniques. (Relaxation and Breath Techniques were implemented in Kadikoy Governorate in 2006 within 10 high schools and to 750 students and positive results were obtained.) We use practical presentation methods and techniques like brainstorming, concept mapping, case study, question-answer, improvisation . A product prepared by using the "Aytürk Technique", among the 720 competitors, won the third place in Turkey in the competition titled "Fikirler Yarışsın Engeller Aşılsın". Some parts of the training of the students who will participate in the program will be "peer education" in order to ensure the dissemination and sustainability of the project. .
