World Biodiversity Day - May 22nd
Anna Teresa Fiori - ICS La Giustiniana - Roma, Italia
For World Biodiversity Day, I organized a "Biodiversity Scavenger Hunt" in a nearby park. I created a list of diverse plants, animals, insects, and other natural elements for the students to find and identify. This hands-on activity helped them appreciate the variety of life around them and understand the importance of protecting biodiversity.

🌿🌸 Celebrating World Biodiversity Day! 🌸🌿
To honour this important day, our students created a “Biodiversity Corner” at school! They planted herbs and flowers that attract bees and pollinators, built a small insect hotel, and added colourful signs to raise awareness. 🐝🌼
Through this hands-on activity, they learned how even small actions can help protect nature and support local ecosystems. 💚🌍
We are proud to take care of our planet, one flower at a time!

To celebrate World Biodiversity Day on the 22nd of May my students attended an interactive webinar about Biological Diversity. They learned a lot about this topic, and we were all surprised to find out that there are many pollinating animals, including lizard and little mammals. It was wonderful!
In addiction, my students decided to sow bee-friendly plants and herbs, which attract bees and other pollinating insects with their scented flowers, to allow them to collect the nectar they need.

My students went out to the garden during the school day and observed plants and insects. In their remaining time, they made designs from natural materials related to the bee, the leading actor of our project. They watered the flowers on the way back.

On the occasion of World Biodiversity Day, I organized a clean-up campaign near our school. Students also recognized and named plants and animals. We admired the natural landscape: fields, meadows, the school garden. We found fallen trees. This activity made us realize how important it is to protect biodiversity.

On May 22nd my students took a trip to the Regional Park of our town. They discovered the importance of the variety of plant and animal species to preserve the environment and fight the climate cange. They got to learn about and observe some important plants of the Mediterranean Maquis, which play a foundamental role in keeping healthy soil and a proper balance of the ecosystem.
