Description

In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for a future that is uncertain and in constant change. Design Thinking enhances educators with a powerful problem-solving framework to address complex issues and create innovative solutions within the realm of teaching and learning. Design thinking is a holistic approach that integrates empathy, creativity, and rationality to handle problems and generate solutions. This course will guide participants through the key principles and stages of the design thinking process, demonstrating how it can be effectively applied in educational settings. Participants will also prepare a personal mini research project on a personal educational puzzle, following the SPRE stages to be presented at the on-site dissemination activity.   Target Audience This course is designed for educators, and anyone involved in the field of education who is interested in fostering innovation and creative problem-solving in their professional practice. By the end of this course, participants will not only have a solid understanding of design thinking but will also be equipped with practical tools and strategies to apply this approach to create a positive change in the field of education.

Learning objectives

  • Introduction to Design Thinking: Explore the foundational principles and mindset of design thinking, emphasizing empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing.
  • Empathy in Education: Understand the importance of empathy in the context of education and learn how to apply empathetic techniques to better understand each other and the world surrounding us.
