Description

ESEP Online Workshops are restricted to eTwinners and are the most intense and community-focussed PD format on offer on ESEP. Through their focus on direct and synchronous interaction among a smaller cohort of participants, they can offer an intense and rich learning experience for participants. The Workshops also provide an important moment for members of the eTwinning community to come together to network and learn.

Fiona Kelleher

Fiona Kelleher is an Early Childhood Specialist working with the Membership, Excellence and Learning team of Early Childhood Ireland. She has a Masters (MA) in Leadership and Advocacy in the Early years and a BA (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Care and Education. Fiona works with early years and school age settings in delivering training and mentoring across all areas of early years practice. Fiona has completed her Marte Meo Colleague training as this is a particular area of interest for her and allows her to deliver a Marte Meo programme to Early years Educators. This training focuses on the use of video analysis to support learners to explore how supportive interactions contribute to babies and young children’s wellbeing and development of their communication skills. Fiona is involved in a number of EU projects for ECI which allows her the opportunity to share practice and gain knowledge from other EU

Electra Bada

Electra Bada was educated at Royal Holloway and Bedford College, University of London, attained her postgraduate degree from UCL and her PhD degree from Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition, she has been trained in Mindfulness education for children and young people, systemic theory, and health promotion. She is the mother of a young boy.

Verónica Boix-Mansilla

Verónica Boix-Mansilla is a Senior Principal Investigator at Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education. An international expert on global and intercultural education, her research examines conditions that enable individuals to understand and take action on the most pressing issues of our times, from human migration to environmental stewardship. Frameworks and practical tools developed through her research have set the foundations for quality interdisciplinary, global, and intercultural education high impact institutions including AFS International, Asia Society, Harvard Project Zero, International Baccalaureate, National Academy of Sciences, National Gallery of Art, OECD, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, and the Smithsonian Institution among others. Her work has advanced district-level global competence innovations in contexts such as Portland, DC, and Buenos Aires public schools. Dr. Boix Mansilla authored Educating for Global Competence Preparing our students to engage the world, with Tony Jackson (First and Second Edition); Big Picture Thinking: How to educate the whole person for an interconnected world, with Andreas Schleicher; and Educating for Global Competence in Chinese Schools, with Devon Wilson (forthcoming). She serves on various boards and has received multiple awards including a Doctorate Honoris Causa from the International University of Catalunya.

Dr. Kiriaki Melliou

Dr. Kiriaki Melliou is an Education Coordinator for Early Childhood at the 6th Peripheral Center of Educational Planning of Attica and among the authors of the national Curriculum (2021) of Early Childhood Education in Greece. She has established and now mentors a vibrant teacher community committed to promote empathy and inclusion among diverse students through the use of Harvard’s Project Zero frameworks such as “Out of Eden Learn”. Kiriaki has contributed as an expert to national and international scientific projects awarded by the Greek Ministry of Education and the Council of Europe. She has published more than 30 research papers and presented in several international conferences. Since 2020 she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus. Also, she is teaching three graduate courses at the University of Western Macedonia under the topic of learning and thinking strategies for competency-based education and curriculum design.

Catherine O’ Reilly

Catherine is a Trinity College Dublin Ph.D. student in the School of Education. She is an Early Childhood researcher with a special interest in storytelling as pedagogy and developing critical thinking skills in young children. Her roles include occasional lecturing and working on projects that involve community building and nurturing thinking classrooms.
