New platform section to encourage research activities among school education stakeholders

The European School Education Platform has launched a new section dedicated to research. One of its aims is to encourage and showcase research carried out by teacher researchers, early-career researchers, and student teachers.

In 2022, two calls for papers and a call for external peer-reviewers were organised to set in motion the preparations for the new section dedicated to research. All the selected papers went through a rigorous editorial and peer-review process. The published articles have their executive summaries available in 29 languages and the full papers in English (as PDF).
 

Harvest of the first calls for papers


The first call was targeted at early-career researchers and master’s students. The topics were linked to the 2022 eTwinning annual theme ‘Our Future Beautiful, Sustainable, Together: Schools and the New European Bauhaus’. The selected authors also presented their work at the ‘eTwinning for Future Teachers’ Annual Conference 2022. The selected papers were:

 

The second call was focused on works that report empirical findings based on action research methodology from any school or classroom-based activities. It was addressed to teachers and student teachers in particular. The selected papers were:

 

Next steps in 2023


In 2023, a new call for papers will be organised and the section will be updated with more materials. There will be links to professional development opportunities, and information about the platform data sets that will be available for researchers, etc.
