New platform section to encourage research activities among school education stakeholders
In 2022, two calls for papers and a call for external peer-reviewers were organised to set in motion the preparations for the new section dedicated to research. All the selected papers went through a rigorous editorial and peer-review process. The published articles have their executive summaries available in 29 languages and the full papers in English (as PDF).
Harvest of the first calls for papers
The first call was targeted at early-career researchers and master’s students. The topics were linked to the 2022 eTwinning annual theme ‘Our Future Beautiful, Sustainable, Together: Schools and the New European Bauhaus’. The selected authors also presented their work at the ‘eTwinning for Future Teachers’ Annual Conference 2022. The selected papers were:
- ICT in the digital transformation of education in schools in Southern Spain in the context of post-pandemic learning (Julia Gracia Ordóñez)
- Best practice guide of STEAM methodology in eTwinning projects for future teachers (Katarzyna Sieińska & Tomasz Ordza)
The second call was focused on works that report empirical findings based on action research methodology from any school or classroom-based activities. It was addressed to teachers and student teachers in particular. The selected papers were:
- Visual arts in the English as a Foreign Language classrooms: A small scale action research in Greek primary education (Angeliki Charalampous & Martha Christopoulou)
- eTwinning in Armenian English as a Foreign Language teachers’ teaching and students’ learning practices in the light of 21st century skills (Sona Adamyan)
- A pedagogical experience for building interdisciplinary and longitudinal curricula of Civic Education: a case study in Italy (Lucia Bombieri, Stefania Solazzo & Alessandra Trevisan)
Next steps in 2023
In 2023, a new call for papers will be organised and the section will be updated with more materials. There will be links to professional development opportunities, and information about the platform data sets that will be available for researchers, etc.
