In addition to analysing EU Member States’ responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, in relation to their investment in education, this report also draws parallels with the previous financial and economic crisis at the end of the 2000s. It examines patterns of investment in the education sector and highlights key similarities and differences. It determines that maintaining high-quality investment in education will be key to improving future economic growth in the EU.
