The International Day of Forests is celebrated every year on March 21st to raise awareness about the importance of forests and encourage their protection. This day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012, and each year it has a different theme highlighting the key role of forests in environmental conservation, biodiversity, and the fight against climate change.

On March 20, 2025, as part of the eTwinning project Climate Champions: Literacy for a Sustainable Future, the International Day of Forests was celebrated. To mark the occasion, an online webinar was organized on the platform Zoom, led by teacher Željka Hutinski, with participation from all project partners – students and teachers.

As a result of this collaboration, participants created a joint presentation about forests, their importance, the threats they face, and ways to protect them. The presentation also featured examples of best practices for forest conservation from different countries. Each partner school covered a specific aspect of the topic, and students actively participated in the webinar by presenting their work.

To conclude the activity, students took part in a Kahoot quiz, where they evaluated their acquired knowledge through a fun competition. The Kahoot quiz was created by students from Almzareeb Primary School in Jordan and teacher Dareen Ammourah. It was an engaging and educational experience that allowed students to expand their knowledge interactively on the importance of forests and their conservation.
