Our school is located in Békés, which is in the south-eastern part of Hungary, close to the Romanian border. The town, whose name means peaceful in Hungarian, home of the River Körös and to many bridges. This lowland plain has been inhabited since ancient times, due to its good soil and proximity to rivers. Today it is famous for its thermal waters, basket-making, and sausages.
There are three primary schools in Békés. More than 600 students attend our school. The main building is a two-stories high, with a library, an IT room, a canteen and a gym. Our school is an accredited talent’s spot, as it pays extra attention to the talented students in Math, Hungarian Grammar and in sports. The school is also a „happy school”, because teachers listen to the children’s needs. We have an area, where students can do gardening with the purpose of creating and saving a sustainable enviroment.
