The 5th Primary School “Theodoros Kastanos” is located in the north part of Florina with a total of 195 students receives money from the government and follows the government’s criteria in every aspect. What is taught in our school is based on the textbooks and curricula providing by the Ministry of Culture, Education and Religion, assuring the development of child personality in conformity with parent’s expectations, creating a sense of regional, national and European identity. The schooling ages range from six to twelve years old. Some of our students have special educational needs and others are immigrants, so they need and receive special attention.
Due to the aforementioned economic and social circumstances, lots of our students lack of motivation. Therefore, we want our students to gain a different viewpoint on different cultures, lifestyles, science and technology.
The school takes part in cultural and environmental education programs, promoting educational good. We are also keen on educating our students to be open-minded, broaden their horizons, but also encourage them to find creative ways of promoting cultural and social merits of our country.
Our participation in Erasmus+ and ETwinning projects has already changed our viewpoints in education and the acquirement of knowledge, thus enabling us to take the responsibility of being the coordinating school and fully meet the potential of the project as well as share our experience and guide partner schools.
