Description
The Basic skills fair was an open and informal online event dedicated to basic skills, designed as a space for networking, peer exchange, and inspiration.
eTwinners could join at any time and freely move between different thematic rooms, each focusing on a specific basic skill, and attend the sessions that interested them the most.
Programme
- 14:00 – 14:15: Welcome and introduction to the fair with Rafael Montero, moderator of the featured group Basic skills in action.
- 14:15 – 15:15 Thematic sessions in breakout rooms, led by the moderators of the featured groups. (This part of the fair was not recorded.)
- 16:15 – 17:00: Expert-led plenary session with Priscila Doran, Vice-President of the Executive Council of NUCLIO. This presentation explored the need to strengthen student-centred approaches in schools and promote the active participation of students in society. Methodologies such as design thinking, service learning, and citizen science were discussed as practical ways to support the development of basic skills while ensuring meaningful learning connected to real-world contexts. Rather than presenting ready-to-use solutions, the discussion invited reflection on existing opportunities to strengthen the development of basic skills in schools, create a greater sense of purpose in students’ learning, and assess their development in more inclusive and meaningful ways.
