This course supports educators in integrating outdoor and experiential learning into environmental education. It explores how learning with, in and from nature can enhance inclusion, learner well-being and sustainability awareness through place-based, curriculum-linked outdoor pedagogy. Description
This structured training course explores outdoor and experiential learning as effective approaches to environmental education in early years and primary contexts. Grounded in experiential learning theory and place-based education, the course examines how natural environments can function as meaningful learning spaces that foster ecological awareness, inclusion and learner engagement. Participants engage in practical outdoor activities and reflective processes that support the design, facilitation and assessment of outdoor learning experiences. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, well-being, inclusive practice and the use of accessible local environments, in line with Erasmus+ priorities. There is also an island tour with a tour guide to discover the cultural significance and natural beauties of Corfu and network with colleagues.
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• understand key theories underpinning outdoor, experiential and place-based learning
• design and implement structured outdoor learning activities aligned with curriculum objectives
• apply inclusive strategies to support diverse learners in outdoor contexts
• integrate environmental education, sustainability and nature-based solutions into teaching practice
• use outdoor learning to promote learner well-being, engagement and social development
• apply basic risk–benefit and safeguarding principles outdoors
• reflect critically on practice and adapt outdoor learning approaches to their institutional context
• develop an actionable plan for sustainable implementation aligned with Erasmus+ priorities
Methodology & assessment
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Learning resources include natural and local outdoor environments, facilitator-prepared materials, observation and reflection tools, learning journals and collaborative planning templates. Digital tools may include mobile devices for documentation, basic mapping or photography applications, and shared online spaces for reflection and resource exchange. All resources are adaptable and low-threshold.
Certification details
Certificate complies with the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme and includes the topic, number of didactic hours, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants. In case. A participant requires a specific format of certificate we can accommodation that if requested at least one week before the start of the course.

Course package content:
The course fee includes tution and materials for the course and all administrative work. There is also one cultural activity for netowrking and socialasing covered by the course fee.
Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves.
We do not charge anything extra apart from the 400 EUR course fee.

Free cancellation up to 30 days before the start. After that, the reservation is not refundable. Changes in name and profile of the participant are possible any time before the start of the course.
